reminiscing

This post, on the Indy Parks Nature blog conjured up some great memories. Not only does Janet post a great photo of a "toe biter," she also has a water scorpion in the mix!

Matt and I first became acquainted with water scorpions in the summer of 2007, and have been quite a topic of conversation for us. It took longer than anticipated, but one of our early posts was titled "in the beginning there were water scorpions." Lately we've joked that our signs could be to blame for our affinity - we are cancer and scorpio, respectively. A water scorpion would be quite the hybrid of the two!

I do wonder whether or not that swimming pool in Killeen still has water scorpions, and where we'll see them next...
